Good to Know Before Your North Cappadocia Tour

The day runs on a shared schedule, so start times are firm. Hotel pickup happens in the morning, usually between 08:00 and 09:30, and the group returns in the late afternoon or early evening, roughly 17:00 to 18:00. Exact timing shifts a little with the day's route and traffic. The individual sites keep their own hours, generally 08:00 or 09:00 until 17:00 or 19:00 depending on the season, so sticking with your guide's pace keeps the whole group on track and gives you the most time at each stop.

Dress for a day spent outdoors and on your feet. You'll cover a fair bit of walking on dirt paths and uneven ground, sometimes with light hiking, so closed-toe shoes with good grip make a real difference. Layers work best since temperatures swing over the course of the day. When you go into the cave churches and other religious sites, plan to cover your shoulders and knees.
