The day starts with morning hotel pickup, usually around 08:00, and wraps up in the late afternoon or early evening depending on the group's pace and traffic. Wear sturdy walking shoes or hiking boots, since the ground is uneven, dusty, and full of steps. Dress in layers because the temperature swings through the day, and in summer bring a hat, sunglasses, and light clothing. Modest clothing is a good idea at the religious sites on the route.
