Hagia Sophia Skip the Line Ticket with Audio Guide
About this tour
Hagia Sophia sits in the heart of Istanbul's Sultanahmet district, and this ticket gets you priority skip-the-line entry along with a multilingual audio guide. You'll walk through all public areas of the monument, tracing how a Byzantine cathedral became an Ottoman mosque and reading its mosaics against the Islamic calligraphy on the same walls. Above it all is the famous central dome, an engineering feat that shaped how domes were built for centuries afterward. It remains an active mosque, so plan on modest dress and around one to two hours to take it in.
Highlights
- See where Byzantine and Ottoman architecture meet under one roof
- Stand beneath the central dome, an engineering milestone of the ancient world
- Spot original Christian mosaics beside Islamic calligraphy on the same walls
- Visit a working mosque that still welcomes worshippers today

Planning Your Hagia Sophia Visit: Hours and Dress Code
Hagia Sophia is open every day from 09:00 to 19:00, with last entry at 18:30. Because it is an active mosque, visiting hours work around the five daily Islamic prayers, and the monument closes fully to tourists during each one, usually for about 75 to 90 minutes. The longest closure is on Fridays from 12:30 to 14:30 for the main weekly prayer. Any time outside those windows, you're free to explore.
A modest dress code applies to everyone. Women should wear a knee-length or longer skirt or full-length trousers, keep shoulders and arms covered, and wear a headscarf inside. Men need full-length trousers or knee-length shorts, and sleeveless shirts aren't allowed. The rules are more relaxed for children under eight.
