How the Day Unfolds and Where You'll Be Picked Up

The day starts with a morning pickup at 09:30. There are three points to choose from: the Beyazit tram station, Bilgin's Leather and Fur in Cagaloglu, and the Taksim Ataturk Cultural Center. The studios sit in Riva, a village on the Black Sea side of Istanbul, so the drive out is a fair stretch in each direction. Wear comfortable shoes, since the grounds are large and much of the walking is on open, uneven outdoor terrain.

Once at the sets, your guide walks you through the recreated Kayi camp, the palaces and fortress walls, and the market streets, filling in the history behind Dirilis: Ertugrul and Kurulus: Osman and pointing out where specific scenes were shot. There's a lunch break at a local restaurant along the way. Because these are working film locations, what's open can change with production schedules, so it's worth checking current access before you travel. You'll be dropped back at your original pickup point around 19:00.

FAQs

Where are Bozdag Film Studios located?
They're in Riva, a village on the Black Sea side of Istanbul's Beykoz district, well north of the city center and not on a typical sightseeing route, so most people reach them on a full-day trip.
What TV shows were filmed at Bozdag Film Studios?
This is where the sets for Dirilis: Ertugrul and its sequel Kurulus: Osman were built and filmed, both following the early days of the Ottoman story.
What can you see on the film sets?
The Kayi tribe's tented camp with its felt tents and open central ground is the part most people remember, along with the wooden palaces, stone castles, throne rooms, and market streets.
