About this tour

This full-day trip takes you from Kusadasi or Selcuk to Pamukkale, the tier of bright white travertine terraces formed by mineral-rich thermal water. How the Day Unfolds and What to Bring

Your guide picks you up from your hotel in Kusadasi or Selcuk in the morning and you'll drive inland to Pamukkale, roughly three hours each way. Plan on a long day out, about ten hours door to door.

At Pamukkale you'll see the terraces of white travertine, formed as mineral-rich thermal water spills down the hillside. From there the tour moves into Hierapolis, the ancient spa city built around the springs, where you'll walk among the ruins including its large theater and one of the biggest ancient cemeteries in the region. Bring a swimsuit if you'd like to wade in the pools, and wear shoes you don't mind getting wet, since you walk the terraces barefoot to protect the surface. Lunch is included partway through the day before the drive back to your hotel.
