Float over the white travertine terraces of Pamukkale at first light on a one-hour hot air balloon flight. Good to Know Before You Fly
Flights lift off at sunrise, so pickup times are early and shift a little through the year with the changing daylight. Your driver collects you at the meeting point and drives you out to the launch field, where the crew inflates the balloons while you take photos. After a short safety briefing you'll board for the hour in the air. As with any balloon flight, launches depend on wind and weather, so schedules can move or a flight can be postponed for safety.
Many people combine the balloon ride with time on the ground at Pamukkale and Hierapolis. The site itself is open daily, and you can enter through more than one gate. The South Gate runs 06:00 to 23:00 and sits closest to the terraces, while the Northern Gate is open 08:00 to 21:00 for those walking down through the ruins first. Cleopatra's Antique Pool and the Hierapolis Archaeology Museum are both open 08:00 to 20:00; the pool needs a separate ticket, and the museum is worth catching earlier in the day rather than near closing.
