Opening Hours and Which Gate to Use
Pamukkale and the ancient city of Hierapolis are open every day, but the site has more than one entrance and each keeps its own hours, so the gate you pick affects when you can arrive and how you'll walk the site. The South Gate runs 06:00 to 23:00, the widest window of the day, which makes it the choice for sunrise visitors and anyone showing up later. The Northern Gate, entered on foot, is open 08:00 to 21:00 and works well if you want to walk down through Hierapolis before you reach the terraces.
A couple of spots inside keep separate schedules. Cleopatra's Pool, where you swim over submerged columns, is open 08:00 to 20:00 and needs its own ticket. The Hierapolis Archaeology Museum is also open 08:00 to 20:00, and it's worth heading there earlier in your visit rather than leaving it until closing.
