About this tour
The Sema is the ceremony of the Whirling Dervishes, followers of the 13th-century Sufi mystic Rumi. Dressed in white robes and tall felt hats, the dervishes turn slowly to live music, a moving meditation meant to represent the soul's path toward God. Your ticket covers admission to the 17:00 performance at the Hodjapasha Cultural Center, a 550-year-old Ottoman bathhouse restored as an intimate venue. A small exhibition on-site explains the ritual and the Mevlevi order before the show begins.
