Galata Tower is one of Istanbul's oldest landmarks, a stone tower from 1348 that now works as a museum with an open-air deck at the top. Your ticket gets you skip-the-line entry and elevator access most of the way up, plus a downloadable audio guide in ten languages. From the platform you look out over the whole city, the Golden Horn, and the Bosphorus. Some options also fold in a guided walk around Sultanahmet Square, the Obelisk of Theodosius, and a visit inside the Blue Mosque.

Opening Hours and Visiting Sessions
Galata Tower runs two separate visiting windows each day, so you can time your visit for daylight or after dark. The daytime session is open from 08:30 to 18:14, and the last tickets sell at 17:45.
In the evening the tower reopens as the Night Museum from 19:00 to 23:00, with final ticket sales at 22:00. Plan on roughly 45 minutes to an hour inside either way, which is enough time to walk the museum floors and take in the view from the deck.

Important Information
- The tower gets busy in high season; book ahead and go in the morning if you can
- The elevator covers most of the climb, but the last few flights are a narrow spiral staircase, not ideal for anyone with mobility issues
- Photography is allowed inside; flash may be restricted near the exhibits
- A cafe and souvenir shop are on site
- The observation deck is open-air and can get windy in cooler months; bring a light jacket
- Pairs well with a walk across Galata Bridge, coffee in Karakoy, or a stroll down Istiklal Avenue; guided walks of the Galata area cover the nearby sights
- Follow staff instructions at all times
- Do not lean out of the windows or climb on any structures
