Cappadocia Red Tour: Zelve Museum & Fairy Chimneys with Lunch
About this tour
This full-day Red Tour covers the northern side of Cappadocia, in central Turkiye, where whole valleys are carved out of soft volcanic rock. You'll walk through the Zelve Open Air Museum's three connected valleys, see the cone-shaped fairy chimneys at Pasabag, and visit the rock-cut churches of the Göreme Open Air Museum. A guide who speaks English or Spanish explains the history along the way. Hotel pickup and drop-off, museum entry fees, and lunch at a local restaurant are all part of the day.

Good to Know Before You Go
The day starts with morning hotel pickup, usually around 08:00, and wraps up in the late afternoon or early evening depending on the group's pace and traffic. Because you're moving between outdoor sites, the timing shifts a little from day to day.
Zelve Open Air Museum keeps daylight hours, opening around 08:00 to 09:00 and closing between 17:00 and 19:00 by season, with later closings in high summer; it runs seven days a week, though public holidays can change the schedule. Wear sturdy walking shoes or hiking boots, since the ground is uneven, dusty, and full of steps. Dress in layers because the temperature swings through the day, and in summer bring a hat, sunglasses, and light clothing. Modest clothing is a good idea at the religious sites on the route.
