Blue Mosque Hours and Dress Code

The Blue Mosque is open to visitors every day, with hours that shift by season. From April 1 to September 30 it welcomes visitors from 08:30 to 19:00, and from October 1 to March 31 from 08:30 to 17:00. Last entry is 30 minutes before closing. Because this is a working mosque, it closes to visitors during each of the five daily prayers for roughly 90 minutes at a time, and on Friday mornings it stays closed until 14:30 for the Jumu'ah prayer. Any other time outside prayers, you're free to go in.

Modest dress is required of everyone. Women should wear a skirt to at least the knee or full-length trousers, keep shoulders and arms covered, and put on a headscarf inside. Men need full-length trousers or knee-length shorts, and sleeveless shirts aren't allowed. Children under eight are exempt from the dress code.
